HOW DOES MICRO-NEEDLING WORK?

The ultra-thin titanium needles create tiny micro-cavities in the skin’s surface. This stimulates the body to boost the regenerative processes that naturally takes place in the skin every day. WHICH AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED?

Micro-needling isn’t exclusive to just the face area. The treatment can be done anywhere the skin on the body needs to be thickened, particularly those areas where you might have stretch marks, like the legs, chest, or buttocks with 4 to 6 sessions on average usually sufficient. CAN MICRO-NEEDLING HELP ACNE?

Micro-needling can help improve the appearance of a variety of skin conditions, including rosacea, acne and scars from acne. If you are currently experiencing an acne breakout, you should wait until it settles down before making an appointment as if you have an acne or cold sore breakout, open cuts, wounds or abrasions in the treatment area, I cannot perform the procedure.

DURING THE TREATMENT

Variable treatment intensities allow me to control the comfort of the treatment, and no topical anaesthetic is needed as the treatment isn’t deep enough to cause any major discomfort. The adjustable needle depth ensures a good comfort. A light topical anaesthetic can be applied prior to the treatment on the treatment area in order to minimise any discomfort, however, this is not usually necessary. I also have a number of topical solutions that I can apply during treatment in order to promote healing and enhance the procedure. Treatment is typically fairly painless and although you might experience some discomfort and redness, this is usually minimal and is easily treated with over-the-counter pain medication.

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?

Skin becomes firmer, gains elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced, pores are smaller and circulation is stimulated so the overall conditions and appearance of the skin improves. The anti-hair loss treatment stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss in men and women.

HOW MANY PROCEDURES DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

You will see a plumping effect almost immediately as the process of cell regeneration starts to occur soon after the treatment. However the natural healing process takes time, so full results won’t really be seen for around four to six weeks. During this time, collagen production is increased and collagen is formed, skin cell regeneration occurs and blood supply to the surface of the skin is enhanced, bringing about a natural and long-lasting improvement in the appearance and feel of the skin. Generally a series of at least four treatments, with 2 weeks between them is recommended. More treatments may be recommended if necessary, depending on your particular skin complaint. You would then have a 3 to 4 month break before having a top-up treatment(s).

ARE MICRO-NEEDLING RESULTS PERMANENT?

The results of micro-needling are not permanent and you will require treatment on a regular basis in order to maintain and maximise these (top-up sessions may be required once a month or every 3 to 6 months, depending on severity).

HOW OFTEN CAN MICRO-NEEDLING BE DONE?

The frequency of the procedure will depend on the severity of the issue. If your skin is in good condition and you take care of it, you can have micro-needling treatments every month or every 3 to 6 months.
When starting a course of treatments you may need to wait 7 to 14 days between treatments and not have any other treatments performed in the treatment area for 2 weeks after micro-needling.
For the treatment of Acne scarring initially it is likely you would require one session every 10 days for 6-8 sessions.
